SomnoGuard AP is a mandibular advancement device to fight snoring and mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea. SomnoGuard AP is worn by the patient during his sleep with high safety and comfort. SomnoGuard AP consists of two mouthpieces attached to the upper and lower dental arches and connected by a screw device allowing to set accurately the forward lower jaw adjustment. It will hold forward your tongue and soft palate, making more space in the respiratory tract to breathe freely without snoring.

SomnoGuard AP has been designed by a sleep center and underwent successfully several clinical tests. The treatment is efficient on patients which suffer from snoring and mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea. For severe obstructive sleep apnea, you should consult a sleep specialist and follow a heavier treatment.

SomnoGuard AP can be fitted for every mouth, as it consists of two thermoforming oral mouthpieces that are easily shaped on your teeth. The external face of each part is made of a hard plastic and when you immerge each mouthpiece in hot water, the inner face becomes soft and you have to clench firmly your teeth to achieve an exact impression of them.
	The lower mouthpiece is provided with a screw system to adjust the lower jaw advancement with accuracy from 0 to 12 millimeters, depending on the screw put in place. The upper mouthpiece is provided with a guide linking both mouthpieces and enables the patient to perform lateral movements with his jaw.

SomnoGuard AP is recommended in case of:

- Snoring.

- Mild to moderate sleep apnea.

SomnoGuard AP is unadvisable in case of:

- Bad fitted full denture (upper/lower).

- Bad fitted partial denture (upper/lower).

- Painful mastication (joint problem).

- Dental treatment.

- SomnoGuard AP is not intended to children less than 16 years old, being in full growth, unless the doctor or dentist has prescribed it precisely.

- It is unadvisable to use SomnoGuard AP if you you suffer from periodontosis with loose teeth and receded gum. First, you have to treat your teeth from this desease with your dentist and then you will be able to use SomnoGuard AP without restrictions and with big success.

- SomnoGuard AP is not designed for people who grind their teeth during their sleep (bruxism).

Cleaning SomnoGuard AP

When you wake up, take the SomnoGuard AP out of your mouth and put it in the DentureBrite vibratory automatic cleaning and scaling system, for 15 minutes. At the end of this procedure, rince the SomnoGuard AP with running water and put it back in its box.
